The Oceanside Scottish Country Dancers meet weekly on Wednesdays, beginning the Wednesday right after Labour Day, until approximately the beginning of May. We typically take a Christmas break beginning about the second week of December, until the first Wednesday after New Years.

Classes for the 2011-2012 season begin on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, with newer dancers starting at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:15 for setup), and intermediate dancers starting at 8:00 p.m.

All dance sessions are held at the Qualicum Beach Community Centre on Memorial Ave in Qualicum Beach, immediately next to the railroad tracks. (There is also a curling rink in the building.)

We invite all new and experienced dancers to join us. New dancers are encouraged to participate beginning in September. Come join us and try out Scottish Country dancing.

Scottish Country dancers who are visiting the Oceanside district are more than welcome to join us at any time.

BEGINNERS' CLASSES are held on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Beginners' classes come with full instruction in dance steps, formations, and etiquette.

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES are held on Wednesdays from 8:10-10:00 p.m.

Announcements are provided between the two classes.

FEES for the 2011-2012 season are $90, or $40 for the fall session (Sept-Dec) and $50 for the winter/spring session (Jan-May), which represents a savings of more than a 40% over our $5 nightly drop in fee. There is no charge for our Open House on September 14.

We welcome visitors from other clubs. There is no fee for your first visit, and a $5 "drop-in" fee thereafter.
